Ruby Margaret Hausted passed away in Lincoln, Nebraska, February 1, 2021.  She was born June 14, 1933 in Rural Center Township, Lansing, Iowa, to Glenn and Cora (Gelo) Carlson. She attended rural school, and then graduated from the Waukon, Iowa High School. 

Alvin (Al) Hausted (Haugsted) became her husband, June 25, 1952 when they were married at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.  Together they operated Hausted Auto and Implement in Waukon, Iowa until 1979.  They relocated to Lincoln, NE, in 1985 to be near family.  Ruby became involved in food service and was the head of food service in an assisted living facility for several years in Lincoln, NE.  Through the years her faith in God and and her involvement with church and family made her life complete.  She loved to cook, and enjoyed reading and embroidery.  

She is survived by her son Alan Hausted (Chris) Lincoln, NE, grandchildren  Lindsay Akins (Jeff)  Harrah, OK, Tara Quero (Romero), Days Creek, OR, Nick Hausted (Iriann) Berrien Springs, MI, Amanda Soto, Lincoln, Andy Hausted and Jonathan Hausted, California.  Also five great grandchildren, Eric and Landon Soto, Lincoln, Gavin and Brinley Akins, Oklahoma and Beniah Quero, Oregon. 

Ruby was a member of the Piedmont Park Seventh-day Adventist Church in Lincoln, NE.  Ruby requested a private family memorial service.
