Mabel C. Stamler, 95, of Lincoln Ne, passed away after an extended illness on May 10, 2017. She was born on March 16, 1922 in Pennsylvania. At four, her parents, Walter and Essie (Struble) Connelly moved to a farm in Ohio; she had four siblings, all have passed. After serving as a navy WAVE in WWII and receiving a degree in dietetics from Ohio State, she took an internship at Stanford. She married Lorraine Stamler in 1953, also Navy. Her three children, Richard born in San Diego, Wendy in Vallejo and Cynthia (Brian) in Rhode Island are all surviving. After moving to Lincoln in 1957, she worked as a head dietitian and instructor of dietetics at Bryan hospital for 25 years. She was respected and loved by all who knew her. Fuller brush was her retirement part-time job, along with maintaining beautiful flower gardens, sewing hobbies and helping with the Veterans Memorial Gardens.
She is survived by four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She will be missed deeply.

Wednesday (5-17-17) at Metcalf Funeral Home 245 N. 27th street,
Lincoln, Ne. Burial in Lincoln Memorial Park.
