Ima “Jean” Tipton, of Lincoln, passed away February 5, 2018. Born in Bayard, NE on December 4, 1928 to Ernest and Sylvia Kuhn. Jean worked managing retail stores in her early years. As a grandmother, she exceeded the best of expectations. Her hands were tiny, but always busy, and she delighted in sewing, gardening, and fixing things, all of which she did with great skill and heart. Jean was a huge Husker football fan, and the family will keep up her chant, “Go Big Red……dy!”

Survived by daughters, Cheryl “Sherry” Carter, Darla (Doyle) Reinwald; son, Dennis (Ruth) Tipton; brother, Verne (Joan) Kuhn, Waxahachie, TX; Jean was adored by her 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by parents, brothers, Gerald (Pauline) Stahly, Eldon “Bud” Kuhn; sisters, Beulah (Ervin) Schernikau, Donna (Darwin) Hanneman, Dortha Teves Nickels; husband, James Curtis Tipton; infant daughter, Sharon; son-in-law, Robert L. Carter; grandson, Robby Carter; infant grandson, Greg Tipton.
